One of the best things I did is attend Choral Evensong on Sunday at St. Martin’s in the Fields. An inclusive service with soaring voices and a ministry that focuses a lot on homelessness. When I get lonely traveling alone, I find churches really consoling. Also, a feast for the eyes, even in more austere spaces like this one. #latergram

Tonight, the closing line Laura Linney (yes, pinching myself, Laura Linney) spoke on stage were, “All life amazes me,” and I awkwardly couldn’t stop crying in my seat and then started again minutes later standing and saying goodbye to this dear, floating sight, encountered as I ran to the theatre like a thunderbolt. Now, I had time to stand and give thanks, which is something I do. I stood in the rain, laden with bags and thought that yes, I am amazed, I am amazed by it all, full of gratitude to be perceiving anything in this life, and to be loved by the people I love. I stand amazed. Thank you. #mynameislucybarton

Tonight the moon is brighter than any worry you’ve been polishing with your fingertips. Look up and gaze, tiny, still, wondrous, through the penumbra of your own spinning.

#2018bestnine Snow-dusted scrambles; new looks; being proud of my siblings; a story every day for 25 days; hoping and voting; and remembering the women who braved everything to speak the truth. Saying it louder for the people in the back: #believewomen I’m hoping for more than a year of justice; I’m hoping for radically reshaped landscapes of power, altered attitudes, and change that in turn changes lives. 2019...onward.
